Rants & Raves 2.1
Ack! I’m late with Rants! & Raves! Maybe you should Rant! about that!
1. A Rave! is something that happened during the past week that you’re pleased about and is signified by the word “Rave!” and/or an appropriately peppy emoticon.
2 A Rant! is something that happened during the past week that you’re ticked about and is signified by the word “Rant!” and/or an appropriately grumpy emoticon.
3. You may Rant! about something a person said, did or wrote, but you may not Rant! about generally disliking a person.
Have fun!

Was very sick this morning, with vomitting (& something else), & I couldn’t move without stirring up some more. (So for quite awhile I just sat on the bathroom floor, with my back against the wall.) This afternoon I’m still feeling nauseous, tired, & weak.
Rant
We lost our internet connection early yesterday afternoon, when I dropped a heavy mirror behind my dresser, unknowingly unplugging the modem & breaking the plug.
Rave
Though not feeling well yet, I feel better than I did this morning!
Rave
Well, obviously I got my internet connection back. Rave-within-a-rave
My timid 15-yr.-old daughter (homeschooled) took care of letting the tech in & such.
Rave: I found a Christian school I like, and think would be really great for our son when he starts Kindergarten in the fall.
Rant: My husband doesn’t want to send him there.
Say a prayer for us - we need to apply by Feb 22 if we want a chance to get in.
Armoredangel,
Please see my question on 38 of whirled views and answer if you want to. Thanks, did not want to disturb the rants and raves..
Rave: There are two things quite humbling and both were profound this week–that God speaks to humans and that our adult children love us so completely.
Rave: Our oldest son got accepted to the University at the top of his list (U of Idaho). That is step one. The other is being accepted into the NROTC program.
Rave: Hubby was in the middle of a gang shooting again on the way to catch his train and he nor the dad and two kids he was with were hit.
Rant: Not really feeling it this wonderful Friday.
Rave: Mary, middle granddaughter, took her nurses board exam and passed. She was worried. We weren’t.
After four and 1/2 years, she is now officially a registered nurse. She will start at Wake Forest Hospital in Winston Salem on Feb 8.
We are proud of Mary.
Did I say that before?
Wecome Adios’s son, to my hometown, and not far from here.
Chas,
Wonderful news! Daughter is enjoying her time working as an RN in Boise but it took her five years, the first was a get acquainted and figure things out year. But we are proud of her and glad she is willing to work with folks in intensive care.
Chas, that is great news! You must be exeedingly proud.

RAVE!!! I’ve been a longtime lurker and registered today just so I could share this:
I save 4% by shopping around for an auto loan. The dealer first gave me 72mos @8.99 (!!!) and the lowest he would go was 60mos @6.99. An online lender approved me for 48mos @5.96 and a local bank gave me 48mos at 4.9!!! Whoo hoo! As a single woman who stood up for herself admist the wolves at the dealership, I am pretty darn happy!
Darjeelingirl,
And you have a great handle. Are you a tee-totler?Welcome aboard.
Mumsee,
So you are in ID, eh? My in-laws all live in Boise. Wonderful place.
Welcome, Darjeelingirl! Good for you for standing up to the thieves who tried to stick you with an 8+ rate!
Rant: People who quote scripture without its context. As a Pastor of mine once said: “A text without a context is a pretext.”
Rant: The exorbitant price of a war fought on a pretext.
Rave: Dedicated staff. I am fortunate to work with a group of people who care about their jobs and in the human rights field it can be hard to keep on.
Rant: I missed the 8th grader contest.
Rave: I have NO homework at all this weekend. How bizarre is that?
Rave:
Earlier in the week I was sooooo happy to be finished with a phone/dsl wiring project. Yipppeee! It’s finished. No more interrupted DSL every time the phone rings!
Rave:
Earlier in the year I thought I was going to be stuck with a $10K bill to replace the septic system. Looks like I’ll probably get away with a smaller repair bill. (Only a couple thousand.)
Rant:
After 1-1/2 years (old) our heat pump cracked a capillary line and is going to cost me $800 to repair and recharge. And that just after we replaced the roof for $5k recently.
Right now I hate my house…
The good news is that it won’t be long and I’ll completely own it even if it does fall down around my ears!
