I think one would have to live in the midst of those who produce this ‘air headed’ no quality entertainment, to grasp its mindless impact on many a young child or adult.

Most of those who come here to visit from another state …… beg until taken, to ’see Hollywood’ the land of whatever they have been dreaming about. It amounts to a drive down Hollywood Blvd, which hopefully will not be crowded, and easily maneuvered, until at last we can get back to something which resembles ‘real life’- As one drives down this Blvd. its doesn’t take a great genius to see that its nothing but a dump, something that has been trumped up in the minds of kids and gullible adults for a lifetime, believing that this Blvd somehow holds some magic which the rest of the world believes will bring joy and happiness. Nothing could be further from the truth.

As you drive, you see those who stumble along, either having drunk to much, or worse. Then there are the most beautiful women and men, who…….after not ‘making their mark in Hollywood’ head for the blvd, ….. it’s a shame, its what happens when people believe in beauty, and make-believe rather than the LORD Jesus Christ.

If there is one place which makes ones heart sad, its this blvd. It’s not a place of dreams, but a cemetery for a life ill spent, trying to obtain what can only be called an illusion.

Sawgunner - You are so right, although no one really has to mention that McConaughey will be shirtless. It’s sort of assumed and why all of us watch. IS McConaughey talented and intelligent? I guess I always reduced him to a sex object too.

I think you can easily get 40% of the gals to see a McConnaughey flick just by mentioning he’ll be seen shirtless in the beach surf.
How tragic to see an otherwise talented intelligent man reduced to mere sex object for the ladies.

Actually, that’s an interesting take on February in Hollywood. I always count on the fluffy, ridiculous stuff coming out in January through March (witness this weekend’s fare - Hannah Montana, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, and this one) - but now that I look at it, there are a handful of dramas, too.

I think they tend toward lower quality, since the studio didn’t bother to rush them out before awards season, but then again, Zodiac was an early-year movie, as was The New World, and those were both fantastically well done movies from reputable directors who just don’t seem to care about awards.

Who are you trying to sell ‘Fools Gold’ to with that one? Thank goodness the writers strike is nearly over and we can hear some truth again
